Samuel Hurtado is the current executive director and one of the founders of South Boston en Acción. He has more than 20 years of experience in organizing and advocacy that has been critical to SBEA’s growth as a dynamic and member-led organization that provides high-quality services and builds community. His prior work includes positions with Massachusetts Advocates for Children, the South Boston Community Health Center and the Paraclete Academy. He previously served as an appointed member of the Access and Opportunity Committee at the Massachusetts Convention Center and the Boston School Committee’s Task Force on English Language Learners. He was also a member of South Boston Association of Non-Profits’ Board of Directors.
Hurtado has lived in South Boston for 15 years and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, with a concentration in Community Organizing, from the University of Massachusetts Boston’s College of Public and Community Service.
